#BlackOutDay On Twitter

Today, black women came out to play on the timeline, and it was beautiful! In light of Viola Davis’ acceptance speech after winning an Emmy Award — Best actress in a drama series for her role in How to Get Away with Murder, the ‘first’ black woman to achieve such — and my own on-going project to constantly affirm black women and their right to be seen, heard and respected, I thought to jump at the opportunity and share some work. Call it a multi-faceted engagement if you will. It’s some shit I’ve been wanting to do for a while, and this proved the perfect moment.

Below is but a tiny selection of images of black women. Some I know, and some I don’t. All of them are beautiful, #becauseblack.
