#BlackOutDay On Twitter

Today, black women came out to play on the timeline, and it was beautiful! In light of Viola Davis’ acceptance speech after winning an Emmy Award —ย Best actress in a drama series for her role inย How to Get Away with Murder, the ‘first’ black woman to achieve such —ย and my own on-going project to constantly affirm black women and their right to be seen, heard and respected, I thought to jump at the opportunity and share some work. Call it a multi-faceted engagement if you will. It’s some shit I’ve been wanting to do for a while, and this proved theย perfect moment.

Below is but a tiny selection of images of black women. Some I know, and some I don’t. All of them are beautiful, #becauseblack.
