My friend Shoni called to inform me that Cabo Snoop was in town. He also wanted to know whether I’d be down to tag along with the Kudurista, and hell yeah I couldn’t say no!
That call happened some eight months ago. Cabo was here to shoot a music video as well as meet with Jozi-based media houses. We cruised around — Shoni, his other homie Carlos, and Cabo — stopping by in Braam to purchase a few essential items for the video or, as I saw it, to spectate while Cabo indulged his inner technicolor-loving colour-blocker tendencies. Homie went full throttle!
The second day was for “Está no Limão”, the name of the song for which the video was being shot. After they picked me up (Shoni had other obligations), we headed to Studio Space Pictures‘ offices located in Midrand. This was to meet the video directors, get make-up done, and collect Most of the shots were going to be on location — one at a farm, and one at a house in some Sandton suburb.
The video was only released this past June. Below are images showing parts of what went down during the videoshoot.

The coat Cabo Snoop is wearing in this scene is a David Tlale design. He went to pick it up that very morning.

Shooting the cow scene was tricky for the rest of the crew, but provided lots of laughter for us who hung on and watched.
